June ArmsteadJune Armstead is a California Licensed Cosmetologist with over three decades of experience and the owner of Body, Soul, and Spirit Salon in San Francisco, California. She is also the founder and director of Salon Know-How Education and Training Institute, where she provides professional education and training for salon owners, booth renters, industry professionals, and students in areas including natural hair care, braiding, dreadlocking, hair weaving, extension techniques, and salon and spa management.
June specializes in structured, science-guided hair care for professional and executive women with textured, natural, curly, coily, biracial, and multicultural hair. Her work focuses on promoting proper hair care practices that support long-term hair and scalp health. With a background in trichology and holistic hair health, she provides non-medical support for hair loss and scalp concerns and is known for managing complex and “hard-to-manage” textured hair types with clarity and structure. She is a Trichology Diploma holder, PsychoHairapy Certified professional, Hair Coaching Certification Candidate, and Board Certified Trichologist Candidate. Her approach blends cosmetology expertise, scalp awareness, education, and accountability to help clients achieve measurable, maintainable outcomes. Beyond her salon and institute, June is the founder of Braidz N' Thangz, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young women through skill development in hair care and professional growth. She has also mentored aspiring cosmetologists through her educational programs.
