We may be a little different from other salons you are accustomed to. We would like to take this time to answer some FAQ behind our actions, policies, and procedures during hair care appointments.
Q. Why do I need a consultation and, what should I expect during my appointment?
A. During
the consultation, we will analyze your hair. We need to know the
condition, texture and if there is any damaged hair and/or scalp
disorders. We may also recommend other alternatives to the way you
currently care for your hair.
For your first appointment, you will be required to complete a form
with your hair care profile, as well as personal information and
history. This is vital to your protection in our salon. Body, Soul
and Spirit Salon will not risk the personal safety of our clients. We
want to make sure that we have all necessary information. We follow the
old saying: “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”
During
an average appointment, your service will include: a shampoo, hair and
scalp conditioning with a hot oil treatment. A stylist will then trim
your hair ends (if recommended) and proceed with your individual
styling needs.
Body, Soul and Spirit Salon knows your time is valuable, and we will do our best to handle ALL hair care appointments in a timely manner, but we WILL NOT compromise quality for the sake of time. Extra steps MUST be taken in order to achieve or maintain healthy hair. In short, we are NOT an "in-and-out" salon. Therefore, we are aware that our establishment may not be for everyone.
Q. Is a condition, hot oil treatment and trim really necessary?
A.
We believe, our salon’s approach has been proven to work best for
repairing and strengthening damaged hair, while at the same time
achieving and then maintaining healthy tresses. Body, Soul and Spirit
Salon's hair care procedures work only if ALL the components are
included.
Q. Why must your salon prepare my hair before weaves or extension services, and then recommend the salon does the removal?
A. Often times, our clients are unaware that adequate preparation is NOT taken BEFORE braided extensions and sewn weaves are placed in the hair. Nor are proper removal steps and “aftercare” procedures followed.
What
often takes place does much more damage to the hair than what is
expected or is necessary. By having our salon prepare your hair before these services, and professionally remove wefts or extensions, there is minimal damage and hair loss is virtually nonexistent.
